His story was a little bit cheesy but, he did so good reading out loud, on stage, into a microphone, and in front of all those people (see him in the video). He said he was a little nervous but, you couldn't tell one bit at all. I wish I could talk in front of people half as well as he did!
Mostly just picture posts for the unforeseeable future. Blah but it'll have to do. Sorry, Texas.

BROOKE'S KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION
It's unbelievable that this day actually came. My last baby graduated from kindergarten and is moving on up in the world. This year flew by so much faster than I anticipated, and now Brooke will be in a grade with an actual number in front of it instead of a letter (you know, like a 1 and not a K...just to clarify).
Brooke's teacher has been so sweet and patient with her this year. She said she has really seen Brooke mature so much throughout the year.

Brooke thought it was so cool to get to leave school so early without her brother so, Nathan and I took her to Chick-fil-a for breakfast. He went back to work while we finished getting stuff for the teacher gifts. And, of course, I made her take more pictures. She just looked so darn pretty!

Brooke, Mommy is soooooooo proud of you!!! I can't wait to see how much you learn in the first grade!

Brooke, Daddy is soooooooo proud of you!!! His little princess really is growing up!
Nathan brought Brooke home some flowers for her graduation, and it was just too stinking sweet.

She said she wanted them in her room and picked the perfect spot on her shelf...Awww.

5/15/10-GAME 9
*Yes, I know I'm nearly 2 months off...oh well :)
Again with the phone calls...Just one day after Nathan got the phone call about his cancer and the need for more surgery, he got another phone call asking him to pitch in Cole's baseball game. He didn't even hesitate for a second and agreed to do it.
What?! Dude, you just had major surgery less than 2 weeks ago! He knew it would be hard on him but, he also knew that it might very well be his last chance to help with Cole's baseball team before the end of the season.
He had to do batting practice for an hour before the game...in the blazing sun...to allow the kids to get accustomed to his pitching. That wasn't a good idea AT ALL. It was easy for me to see that he was exhausted when Brooke and I got there shortly before the game started. He was overheated, light headed, and sick to his stomach but, did that stop him from pitching the entire game? Of course not. He actually pitched so well that nobody realized how awful he felt the entire time.
I don't remember the final score but, our kids did really well and completely blew out the other team. The head coach's wife suggested that Nathan pitch more often...Little did she know that his world had just been turned upside down. At least the game was a brief distraction from it all.
Cole got to play third base for part of the game and shockingly did really well.
Even though Cole never said anything, I think he was really proud to have his daddy out there...As he should be!
