Mostly just picture posts for the unforeseeable future. Blah but it'll have to do. Sorry, Texas.

FIELD DAY

Don't you just love Field Day? I remember it being so much fun and so cool to try and win first place in every event. Cole's field day ended up being pretty lame because it was rainy and really chilly outside, and everything had to be held in the stanky, old gym.

We didn't stay that long because it was a week after Nathan's surgery, and he wasn't really up for standing in a loud, echoing, musty gym full of screaming kids. Cole was all about hanging with his friends anyway. He's such a social kid and has no problem feeling comfortable or fitting in pretty much anywhere...A quality that he did NOT get from me.

Brooke's field day was two days later and the weather had completely flopped. It felt like we were in Texas again. It was hot and sunny and the outdoor events actually got to be held outside. Much better for a bunch of screaming kindergartners. I was so worried about Brooke being shy and uncomfortable out there...A quality that she unfortunately DID get from me.

This was also Nathan's first day back at work, due to pressure from his boss even though it was against his doctor's advice, but he still managed to stop by two separate times to see his little girl at her first field day. It was unbelievable how cute she was out there. And it was just so sweet to hear all of her little class mates cheering her on. She did great out there and had such a good time.
