Mostly just picture posts for the unforeseeable future. Blah but it'll have to do. Sorry, Texas.

A FEW DECEMBER HAPPENINGS

The first snow of the season came around the first week of December.  It snowed twice that week and boy was I pumped!  It wasn't much and  didn't stick around long but, it sure was pretty.  I was hoping that it snowing so early was a sign of a winter full of snow and maybe even a White Christmas, but no such luck.
Our friends invited us to the Medina Parade, a little country town about 10 minutes up the road from us.  It's actually probably where we'll end up by the time Cole goes to middle school because the middle schools in Jackson are beyond awful.  There are several great private schools but paying $1,500 A MONTH for two kids makes my stomach turn.  I'd rather put that money towards a bigger house with more room for family and friends to visit.

The parade was short.  Only 3 floats, a few fire trucks, the little band, some old timey cars, and some other cheesy stuff.  But everyone knew everyone and all seemed to love it.  People kept looking at us like they knew we were outsiders.  Kinda funny.
A birthday party for a sweet boy that I didn't seem to get a picture of at the party.  Drane was on our football and fall baseball team and our families have become good friends.
Nathan and I took turns entertaining his little sister, Saylor, so her momma could have a little less to worry about during the party.

Brooke won the bonus ticket prize.  I was shocked!  I don't know how she did it because I tried watching that little light go around and around about 10 times.  I was so proud of Brooke for picking out a couple things for Saylor to have with the tickets, too.
School Christmas programs.  Brooke's was at 12:45 and Cole's was at 1:45.  Talk about taking a long lunch that day.  Nathan was in California so the kids had to stay at school and wait for me to come get them at 5:30.  They were a little disappointed but understood.  All they were doing was fun stuff in class with the kids that had to stay anyway.

Oh, and basketball practices started.  We didn't sign Cole up early enough to where Nathan could coach his own team again this year but, he ended up getting asked to be a coach anyway a few weeks later.  Not enough coaches or sign ups...Go figure since they doubled the entry fee.  Nathan was kind of looking forward to a break from coaching but, that's ok because Cole was very excited when he found out about it.

Ahhhh, the things we do for our kids.
