Mostly just picture posts for the unforeseeable future. Blah but it'll have to do. Sorry, Texas.

1st SCRIMMAGE & A HERSHEY TREAT

Cole had his first baseball scrimmage this past Saturday. Boy, was he pumped. We had to miss the egg hunt at Nathan's work because of it, but he didn't care.

He struck out his first time up to bat. I don't know what he was doing, but he just looked like he wasn't all there. When Nathan went to talk to him right after, he heard one of the kids tell Cole, "It's okay, buddy, you'll get it next time." Aww...that was so sweet. Cole said he was just really nervous...Which was very obvious.
Cole got to experience his first time chilling in the dugout, too.
He played left field, but I think only one ball rolled to him the entire time. He seemed pretty bored, but the other team really didn't have any good hitters. He would get really excited and cheer for his infield teammates when they made a good play though.
Brooke was very good and loved running up to the dugout every time Daddy did.Cole got a right field hit his next two times up to bat. We were so proud! We were also kind of surprised that he really didn't have a clue what to do once he was on base. Something to work on I guess. Nathan went to talk to Cole after every at bat and in between innings. It was unbelievable for me to see my own kid out there on that huge field playing, but I can only imagine how cool it was for Nathan to see his son doing what he once did.
I don't know why, but it seems much different than when Cole played basketball. Most of those kids just ran around and pretty much chunked a huge ball around and played a game of controlled chaos. The majority of these kids are really pretty good and know what they're doing. And they want to do a good job and win. It's different for Cole to realize that he's not one of the best ones out there, but I think he'll catch up to them pretty quickly.

I'm obsessed with taking pictures of these trees. They are blooming everywhere and are just so pretty.
I took Brooke out to see the horses after lunch, and she was so excited to get to ride a different horse. His name is Hershey and he's about 20 years old. Karley said he was better on really windy days (which it was) since all he really cares to do is eat grass all day. He is a big boy!
Karley said he hadn't gotten this much attention in years. He kept putting his nose on Brooke's hat like she was his new best friend.
There wasn't even a need to put a bit in his mouth or hold him closely by his face. He was so calm and just happy to be getting some loving.
And Brooke definitely loved him!
He doesn't even have most of his front teeth to chew but that didn't stop him from scarfing down his feed. He was pushing that bowl around every where, but it didn't phase Brooke one bit.
So, all in all Brooke and Cole both had a great day!
