Look at how nice and colorful that dirt is...Still damp from the rain. Add the chill in the air once the sun goes down, and it's a beautiful combination for embedding that orange deep into WHITE baseball pants. Fun!
Cole had a really good hit that I didn't catch on video because little missy was hungry. I thought I had enough time, but then we had to go to the bathroom first. We walked up to our chairs right as Cole was up to bat, but I couldn't put everything down in time. It's my own fault for finishing the cookies at the last minute and then rushing way out of the way to buy a new camping chair thing before the game...Which left me no time to make her dinner.
And of course, this is when Cole decides to actually hit the first pitch instead of whiff at a couple. He smacked it through the air straight to center field. It was awesome.
Our team was ahead by 10 runs at the end of the 4th inning, so the game was called. The coaches chose to play a couple more innings for practice. Sure, no big deal. It's only shockingly really cold, way after 8:00 pm, and the kids all have to take the state tests at school in the morning. But do what you have to do, coach!
Cole played the pitcher's mound the last 2 innings. That was the most action he'd seen all night since none of the kids from the other team ever hit the ball out to left field.
